You are just limited to apply for up t $5000 each time.

For example, you could apply for a $2500 grant to insulate your home. By insulating the home you can save quite a lot of energy each year and cut down on your electricity bills. It is one of the most common things that people can do to improve their homes energy efficiency.

Other improvements that you could make with a grant include purchasing energy efficient appliances. Washing machines, refrigerators and dishwashers all take up quite a lot of energy. However there are appliances that are designed to be more energy efficient and by using a grant you could easily upgrade your appliances.

Applying for a Grant

If you are interested in applying for a home energy grant then it would be a good idea to check with your local government what options are available to you. You will usually have to fill out an application form and then somebody will look around your home to see how energy efficient it currently is. If they agree that the changes you propose to make are worthwhile and they will benefit the environment then they are likely to approve the grant.
